33 Weeks

How far along: 33 Weeks.

How big is baby: A little over 4 lbs (a big pineapple!).

Total weight gain: +17/18 lbs.

Maternity Clothes: No way jose.

Sleep: Still pretty awesome… just a few leg cramps.

Best moment of the week: Thanksgiving. What a great day of family, feasting, and fun.

Food Cravings: Corn casserole.

Food Aversions: Walking past a restaurant in New Orleans, the boiled seafood got to me.

Symptoms: Pregnancy brain like crazy. I shipped our Christmas cards to Oklahoma. So much for getting those out early. And the aforementioned leg cramps. Nothing bad at all, but I’ll wake up once or twice with my calves cramping – not seizing up thank goodness, just like I worked them out too hard.

Movement: Bouts and spurts of wiggles, stretches, and dancing followed by long periods of sleep. And still a few kicks and jabs (usually in the morning or evening).

What I’m looking forward to: Getting the nursery done. It’s really coming together. Pictures later!

What I miss: Snowy Christmas.

32 Weeks

How far along: 32 Weeks.

How big is baby: Almost 4 lbs, or roughly the size of a jicama. 10 points to you if you know what a jicama is. Only 5 if you’ve recently been pregnant.

Total weight gain: +16.5lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I wore a pair of maternity jeans last night and realized why I don’t want to spend my money on them. They fell off my butt. And momma’s got a butt. Not sure what clothing manufacturers think happens to pregnant women’s butts.

Sleep: 32 weeks of great sleep… let’s hope for 8(ish) more!

Best moment of the week: The first Thanksgiving of the year with lots of great, new friends.

Food Cravings: Butter Pecan ice cream in a waffle cone. Still. I still have not got it. 6 weeks of craving it.

Food Aversions: Nothing really…

Symptoms: TERRIBLE round ligament stretching. Seriously, I called labor and delivery worried I would have to come in because of the pain. And pregnancy brain is here to stay.

Movement: About the same as last week. Moments of action, followed by lots of rolling and stretching. And hiccups. Lots of baby hiccups.

What I’m looking forward to: Thanksgiving this week! Family visiting and lots of feasting.

What I miss: Clothes. Clothes that fit me. Clothes that are my size and fit me. Cute, cool weather clothes.

31 Weeks

How far along: 31 Weeks. Holy moly. I can’t even think about it.

How big is baby: 3.5lbs, or four naval oranges (??).

Total weight gain: +16lbs.

Maternity Clothes: A great big bag of maternity clothes showed up with some pretty awesome friends this weekend.

Sleep: Still great. Knock on wood.

Best moment of the week: A visit from some best friends! They drove 6.5 hours to bring us a ton of baby clothes and so much love.

Food Cravings: Butter Pecan ice cream in a waffle cone.

Food Aversions: Rice cakes.

Symptoms: I literally had to write this one down so I wouldn’t forget (isn’t it ironic?) because I’ve forgot to mention this the past few weeks. Pregnancy brain. It’s not a myth. I can not concentrate on more than one thing at a time. If things are too loud, I can’t block them out. I forget EVERYTHING. And I have this really great new thing that happens when I’m reading an email, or scrolling down on a website. I’ll remember something I wanted to do, think “I’ll do it in a second.” and literally 6 seconds later, I can not remember what I wanted to do. I have to reread my email to find that hint word that will remind me. It’s fun. Also, I think I’ve been experiencing painless Braxton Hix contractions. There’s one more thing I wanted to mention, but I can’t remember. Dang pregnancy brain.

Movement: This week was a little less. Still lots of big movements, but not all day, every day. Some days he was pretty active, but others he was calm… or the movements were more stretches and rolls than jabs and punches and kicks. And this week brought hiccups!

What I’m looking forward to: Getting the nursery settled a little soon…

What I miss: My normal appetite – without a taste for sweets.

30 Weeks

How far along: 30 Weeks. This was my “It’s not okay to panic about how little time there is left until I’m ___ weeks.” week. 30 weeks.

How big is baby: 3ish lbs – about the size of a head of cabbage.

Total weight gain: +15lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Nada this week.

Sleep: I wake up a few times a night to pee, but still not any issues. Let’s just cross our fingers and hope this keeps up for 10 more weeks.

Best moment of the week: Jonathan’s trip to Virginia getting cancelled resulting in a few evenings of snuggling which would have been spent alone.

Food Cravings: Jalapeños.

Food Aversions: Nothing too much.

Symptoms: Same old, same old skin, emotions, etc. I’ve been having some rib pains too… but that’s just from a baby butt lodged up there.

Movement: Still my little active boy. He’s going to punch his way out of here.

What I’m looking forward to: The weekend and a visit from some best friends.

What I miss: Cold weather.

29 Weeks

Yes, this was supposed to go up yesterday. Sorry for all you die-hard Recor Baby fans, but we were in Destin, FL on our babymoon. More on that later!

How far along: 29 Weeks. Is it really possible that there are only 11 weeks left?

How big is baby: 2 and a half pounds. A butternut squash

Total weight gain: +13/14lbs. About.

Maternity Clothes: Well still no maternity clothes (though I did buy a non-maternity sweater which I’m rocking in the picture this week). But I am getting to the point where pants don’t fit. At all. Anymore. So we might be breaking down soon for a pair of maternity pants. Or pajama jeans.

Sleep: Knock on wood, but still great. No sleep issues.

Best moment of the week: Our babymoon! What a great weekend. More later.

Food Cravings: Sweets, sweet, and more sweets.

Food Aversions: Dehydrated fruit. Yuck.

Symptoms: I actually had two mornings of nausea this weekend, but I have a feeling it was just from waiting too long to eat. Other than that, same old stuff. Skin, emotions, oh and a stomach that is giant.

Movement: So, so much. My midwife told me that when doing kick counts, I should feel 10 in an hour, and I couldn’t help but laugh. He gives me 10 in 3 minutes. He is an active baby!

What I’m looking forward to: Hopefully a visit from friends soon!

What I miss: My old phone. That died last night. Thank you Apple for having The Cloud to back up all my pictures, because I would have been one sad mama to lose my phone and all my pictures in one fell swoop.

28 Weeks

How far along: 28 Weeks. We are officially in the third trimester people. Holy cow I have a lot to do.

How big is baby: Just over 2 lbs, almost 15 inches, and the size of a chinese cabbage. Like bok choy.

Total weight gain: +12 lbs. And getting bigger every week.

Maternity Clothes: Still rocking the belly band and normal clothes. Although my extra small t-shirts are getting a little short…

Sleep: So far, I have really been lucky in the sleep department. I’ve been tired, but after my first trimester, not too tired – just tired enough to fall asleep by 9pm. But I haven’t had many issues at all.

Best moment of the week: Getting Jonathan back after 15 days of him being gone and me going crazy by myself (with a cat & a dog).

Food Cravings: My lunch pretty much everyday checks a lot of craving boxes. Something about the jalapeño cheddar wrap, the goat cheese, and the honey mustard rock my boat. (Add to that spinach, tomatoes, turkey, swiss, and provolone, and you’ve got yourself a wrap.)

Food Aversions: Nada. Not wanting a big juicy steak anytime soon, but then again, I’ve never been much of a steak girl.

Symptoms: Still lots of skin issues, lots of emotions, and some crazy cramps this week.

Movement: So much. I love feeling this guy moving around. I am starting to feel the stretching and wiggles as much as the kicks and punches, and it’s my new favorite thing. Just knowing my little guy is in there stretching out makes me smile so big.

What I’m looking forward to: A babymoon! Booked!

What I miss: Fitting into my clothes. No joke. I just want to be able to wear a belt.

27 Weeks

How far along: 27 Weeks – last week of my second trimester. Holy moly.

How big is baby: Almost 2 lbs. The head of a cauliflower, and almost 15 full inches long!

Total weight gain: +10.5lbs.

Maternity Clothes: Not a fan. I tried on a few pairs of pants this weekend, and wasn’t happy with any. So I’m sticking with the belly band as long as I can. Then maybe we’ll switch to yoga pants 😉

Sleep: Crazy dreams, but lots ‘o sleep.

Best moment of the week: Having a good laugh with my husband. Sometimes that’s all you need. In case you were wondering what the laugh was about, let’s just say the words “Papa, I pooped a little.” and “Don’t worry, I took care of it.” were involved.

Food Cravings: Still lots of sweets. I finally made my secret recipe cookies and bit into one to realize the chocolate chips were OLD. What a disappointment.

Food Aversions: I can’t think of anything.

Symptoms: A lot of waking up to pee at night (even more than usually) and I’ve been super emotional. Oh, and in a weird turn of events, it seems as though my hair growth is slowing.

Movement: The best I can describe the newest movements (the wiggling and stretching) is feeling like I swallowed a snake. Another fun thing… Baby has taken to hitching an elbow or a foot under my ribs. Doesn’t hurt yet… but I’m hoping he grows out of that before he gets bigger and stronger.

What I’m looking forward to: Sunday.

What I miss: Wine. And snuggles.

26 Weeks

How far along: 26 Weeks

How big is baby: 14 inches, or an English Hothouse Cucumber

Total weight gain: +9lbs.

Maternity Clothes: I got a pair of jeans + a t-shirt this weekend. Neither of which was maternity. But I am wearing both in this weeks picture – and if they fit over the bump, I think they can be considered maternity (for now) right?

Sleep: Aside from a cat waking me up every 45 minutes for extra close snuggles, sleep’s been normal. Wacky dreams.

Best moment of the week: Our last doctor’s appointment. I love my midwife.

Food Cravings: Sweets and goat cheese. Not necessarily together.

Food Aversions: Ehh, nothing really.

Symptoms: Nothing new to report this week. The same old hormonal moments, bad skin, and sleepy sleepy. But nothing new.

Movement: Still lots of it. Especially when I’m in the shower or laying down. At our doctor’s appointment this week, the nurse tried to get his heart rate (140 range) and was cracking up because he was literally kicking and punching so hard at the doppler that he was moving it away from my stomach.

What I’m looking forward to: A babymoon at the end of the month.

What I miss: Snuggling at night.
