30 Days of Thanks: Day 17

yes, this is my neighborhood.

You may remember it was hard for us to meet people when we first moved to Mississippi. Our neighborhood seemed quiet. Like the kind of place where people stay inside their homes and don’t really talk to each other. Well, since then we have met many, many neighbors thanks to a few kind ones who have invited us over to their “block party’s” of sorts. We’ve crashed get togethers on so many streets (aside from our own) and today I am thankful for our neighborhood and the friendly people who live here.

xoxo, Mallory

  1. Wendy says:

Today I’m thankful for the Golden Spike Track Club. They put on some of the best races in the area that are completely family friendly, in super accessible parking areas, incredibly well marked, and extremely reasonable for the cost.

When we moved out here, I wasn’t sure if I would find a replacement for the Virginia Happy Trails Running Club. I’ve been beyond impressed with the GSTC and am so thankful for them (even if it is road running). The race directors truly care and do an amazing job!

PS Thanks for the photo of your neighborhood…. I still fondly remember the drives that-a-way.

In fact, one of the coolest things my parents did for us when we moved there was to start at Bay St. Louis and drive east our first Mardi Gras. We followed the parades, collected candy and dabloons, and were mesmerized. I’m not sure how long you and your fam will be at Keesler, but I still remember that day when I was only (almost) 3.

What do you think?
