Talking to Kids

Also, I once read that despite our tendency to compliment little girls on their appearance (“You’re so beautiful with that headband!” or “That is a pretty dress you have on.”) we should really be discussing more substantial things – to keep the importance off looks. Think about that the next time you meet a three year old little lady. Ask her what her favorite book is, perhaps?

    I firmly believe in the second thing you shared [along with the first]. There’s too much emphasis placed on girls’ looks whether it’s because of direct messages or the equally as detrimental subconscious messages. Keep sharing these wise insights, lady. :]
